In order to carry forward the traditional Chinese virtues of respecting the elderly, caring for the elderly and helping the elderly, we carried out the practical activities of I do practical things for the masses. On the morning of October 19th, on the occasion of the Double Ninth Festival, the Party Committee of the College of Arts and the General Party Branch of Jinbin Community, Longhu New Village Street, carried out a theme Party Day activity. Zou Ronggui, deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, led more than 20 student Party members and youth volunteers to the Longhu Elderly Health Care Apartment in Longhu Xincun Sub-district to carry out voluntary services to respect and help the elderly.

    At 9 a.m., the volunteers, wearing volunteer clothes and carrying drawing boards, took the bus to the practice destination. After arriving at the destination, the volunteers were warmly welcomed by Yang Huaiji, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Longhu New Village Sub-district, and the community staff. According to the division of work, the volunteers carried out the scene sketch, singing military songs, cleaning, playing chess and other volunteer services in small groups.

      During the activity, the volunteers chatted with the old people, asked about the cold and warm, peeled the fruit, and asked about the health situation carefully, so as to understand the old people's favorite life scenes. Combined with their professional expertise, they used smart brushes to paint the life scenes that the old people loved. Zhao Weizhi, president of the Youth Volunteer Association, said with emotion: Caring for the elderly is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, but also the necessary moral cultivation of our young college students. Helping the elderly and respecting the elderly volunteer service activities make us deeply educated, we should be grateful to our parents, grateful society, grateful country in life.

      This voluntary service activity is not only an effective carrier to carry forward the spirit of volunteer service of dedication, fraternity, mutual help and progress, but also a vivid practice of teachers, students and Party members actively practicing the activity of I do practical things for the masses.
